Life transitions can be exciting, but they can also feel overwhelming and uncertain. Whether you are starting college, changing careers, becoming a parent, navigating relationship changes, or adjusting to a new phase of life, these transitions often bring stress, self-doubt, and emotional discomfort. For immigrant and first-generation adults in New York, these life transitions can carry additional layers. You may feel pressure to meet family expectations, balance traditional values with your personal goals, or navigate paths that others in your family may not fully understand. You might find yourself questioning your decisions, feeling guilty for choosing differently, or struggling to find balance between your needs and your responsibilities. In therapy, we will work together to provide emotional support during transitions, helping you navigate these changes with greater clarity and confidence. We will explore the emotional and cultural factors influencing your experience while also building practical skills to manage stress and uncertainty. I utilize CBT, ACT, EMDR, and other therapeutic approaches to help you develop coping strategies, improve decision-making, and strengthen your sense of identity during times of change. You will learn grounding techniques and tools that you can use outside of sessions to stay centered as you move through transitions. As a New York therapist specializing in therapy for immigrants and first-generation adults, my goal is to help you reclaim your balance, trust yourself, and move forward in a way that aligns with your values while still honoring the parts of your background that are important to you.
